Examples of magazine adverts

This magazine advert is for Delphic who are an alternative dance band form Greater Manchester. The advert is very eye catching as it uses an unusal picture which would attract the attention of many people. The colours used arent very bold, but does fit in with the message they are sending out to people about their music, which is they are unique. The style of writing fits ingood, and there is information on the advert about the band. Overall i think the advert matches well with the image the badnis trying to send in my opionion.



Midlake is an American rock band from Texas. The band first gained popularity in Europe by signing with Bella Union records and playing at festivals. This first thing i notice in this advert is the picture, which reminds me of monks. So i get the impression that the band and their songs may have some conection with religion. Also the fact that on the advert there is a passage conataining words of wisdom. Again the colours used arent very bold, and the text style is normal. Overall if i saw this poster i wouldnt be attacted to it because the message they are sending of being religious.

Massive attack are a collaborative British music production duo form Bristol.
This poster is very attractive, i was attracted to it the first time i saw it. The picture stands out, not only does it uses more colour than the other to posters above, but the picture is also unusal and imaginative even know it is a simple picture. The text sytle is also good because not only is it different but the fact that it looks like a eye test sheet that are used. I feel that this picture will attract many people from a range of different ages.

Today we have discovered that we recorded over some of the footage from the drama room, we must have forgot to rewind the tape before we continued to film in the park.

so from now on we have to be more careful :)

Filming

Yesterday we started to film some of the pieces which becky was lip syncing. This turned out to be hard to get right because of the mouth movements. We all decided that we are going to film thrusday and friday. Which we should hopfully fisnish soon so that we can start editing properly.

lip syncing problems

we started to look at the footage of Becky lip syncing in the drama room this morning, we decided to re-film after school as it didnt look good. Becky didnt have the expression or emotion needed for us to use it. So we went back into the drama room and set up the stage again. This time we put a stool on it for Becky to sit on, and we borrowed an accustic guitar from the music department. Becky did it perfectly,including mouthing the words so that we could see it clearly, pretending to play the guitar, and used face expressions and filled it with emotion.

We also decided to have Becky write out the line from the chorus: 'Please dont let me down again' across the board in our class room. We are thinking of speading it up and editing it in time with the line in the song. We have also got a boy that is going to be in the video called Ricky. Which we are going to start filming with him tomorrow.

Drama rooms

After school we used the drama room to film some of our footage. this is because in the drama room we are able to set up a stage and use the different lights. We the stage was ready Becky k stood on it with a microphone. While i worked the camera and used different angles. meanwhile becky h worked the lights, changing from light to dark and from red to blue to create a gig scene. Becky was dressed for the part, and she even found a black boys hat in the drama room which she decided to wear. Which really suited the effect she was trying to give of. We then decided to work it into our story and make it the boyfriends hat, which she throws to the floor after she gets a text from him saying 'its over'. We filmed this scene also, with Becky sat at the edge of the stage with the lights bright, as if she is sat practicing, and then gets a text (zoom on phone) stands up, drops the hat to the floor and walks out of shot.

This time Becky k was alot better with her singing and mouth expression, but lacked much emotion, so she said she would work on it for next time, as we had to leave at 5! but i feel she has improved quite a bit over the few days. as a group we have decided to film in the drama room again during our lessons and for the rest of the

week.

Back to school

We are going back to school on the 4th, when we get back we can start to film and edit. Which we are going to make a start on the lip syncing.
